Heinz Knocke, a German fighter pilot with JG11, was one of the more experienced pilots on the western front and specialized in anti-bomber tactics. He was the first to score a kill by dropping time-fuzed bombs into a formation of heavy bombers - a tactic subsequently discarded because of the difficulty in achieving success. Eventually credited with 44 kills (52 by his own count, with more than half being heavy bombers), this scenario depicts his fifth kill, a B-24D bomber.
